He started when he was 15 as an apprentice at ‘Longchurch East’ based in Kirton, learning the basic skills. After finishing his apprenticeship he went on to do price work for ‘K Bowes’ all over East Anglia. This involved doing all the 1st and 2nd fix work in its entirety, from top to bottom, one house after another. By the age of 22 he was travelling the country with ‘Meadow Construction’, learning more of the contract trade, refurbishing pubs, hotels and prisons with a vast application of materials learning the unique skills they command. The long hours and seeing a job through from start to finish gave great satisfaction, sometimes standing at a bar with beer in hand admiring his work before going home!
By 27 he was starting to settle down in Felixstowe, taking a job with ‘Drake & Plant’ as being a self employed contract carpenter. His contract confidence and knowledge soon found him in running entire jobs on various schools and council buildings in the area. Paul then took a the job of foreman with ‘Heronbuild’, running exquisite and delicate barn conversion contracts all over Suffolk.
After 3 years Paul had enough saved in the bank to fulfil his ambition to travel the world meeting new friends and contacts that wanted his carpentry and joinery skills! Still fitting a kitchen, decking around a pool, bedroom cupboards, fencing or just general maintenance, albeit in a rather warmer climate. This developed into the setting up of his own Cotterell Carpentry business based in Felixstowe justwatchreplica, when he returned in 2009.
Paul now sources his kitchen and bedroom units from London, with direct delivery to his home showroom or direct to site. His range has no limitations on colour and style due to the clever way that he orders his kitchens and bedrooms. Paul has a family and knows the importance of home, what it means and how precious people are about their investment. You can be assured of quality, service and peace of mind with Paul’s services.
